Mr. Monty Ray Newby, age 60, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. He was born on June 11, 1949 in Rome, Georgia.

He is an veteran having served in the Army 82 Airborne.

Mr. Newby is survived by wife, Vickie Newby; daughter, Hannah Newby; mother, Glenda Wilkerson Newby; brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Jackie Newby, Randy & Susan Peacock; nieces & nephews, Tara Lefurgey, Shane Peacock, Jessi Peacock, Benji Langford, Heidi Langford, Chad & Kim Thomasson, C J Norris, Brandon Wood, Megan, Caleb,& Luke Thomasson, Billy & Shannon Newby, Christy Newby, and several great nieces & great nephews.

Mr. Newby is preceded in death by his father, Crayton Newby.

The funeral service for Mr. Monty Ray Newby will be conducted on Sunday, February 7th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Levan officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The Pallbearers will be Jerry Allen, Eddie Benefield, Billy Newby, C J Norris, Lee Hicks, and Wess Lefurgey. The Honorary Pallbearers will be William Benefield, Shane Peacock, Benji Langford, Doug Corley, and Chad Thomasson.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Monty Ray Newby.
