Miss Mildred Clara Gossett passed away on January 14, 2009 following a brief illness. She was born April 4, 1927 in Floyd County. Mildred was preceded in death by parents, Allie Clayton Gossett and Laura Moss Gossett; sister, Grace A. Gossett; brothers, Sidney C. Gossett and Robert Gossett, and nephew, Gary Gossett.
Surviving are sisters, Mabel G. Dooley and Ruth G. Gunter and brother, Earl Gossett; nieces, Barbara D. Porterfield and Martha G. Miner; and Nephews, Billy Gunter and Larry Dooley. Eight great Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Miss Gossett graduated from Cedartown High School in the class of 1945. She lived in Atlanta for more than sixty years and retired from BellSouth/AT&T following thirty-eight years of service.
Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery.
