Mrs. Mildred Smith Turner Cain, age 83, of Cedartown passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was born November 8, 1926 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the daughter of William Porter Smith and Dovie Rogers Smith (both deceased).
Mrs. Cain is also preceded in death, in 1975, by her first husband, Mr. James Greely Turner, Sr.. In 1986 she married Mr. Charles Cain who passed away in 1996. Brothers, Herman Smith, Marcus Smith, Bill Smith, and sister, Joanne Lewis also precede her in death.
Mrs. Mildred Cain is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James Greely Turner, Jr. and Sue Turner of Buchanan; granddaughter and her family, Aleah and Kevin Ingold, great-grandchildren, Madison Poole, Lawson Ingold, and Kacie Lee Ingold all of Social Circle; sister, Edna Faye and Elmer Bowen of Cedartown; sister-in-law, Katherine Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Cain was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was previously employed by Goodyear in Cedartown where she worked for over thirty years.
The funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Turner Cain will be conducted on Friday, April 9th, at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 8th, from 6:oo – 8:00 pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.
