Mr. Michael Ray Purcell, age 62 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. He was born on October 24, 1954 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late Nelson and Thera Williams Purcell.

Mr. Purcell is survived by his wife, Jan Ponder Purcell; brother, John Paul Purcell and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Purcell is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Purcell.

In keeping with Mr. Purcell's wishes' he was cremated. A memorial service for Mr. Mike Purcell will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2017 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Brother Ray Hopkins and Mr. Matt Ingram officiating.

The family of Mr. Purcell will receive family and friends on Friday, January 13, 2017 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the memorial service hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family is accepting flowers; however, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sewell Creek Hunting Club, Wallace Hogue and Richard Bullard.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Michael Ray Purcell.
