Mrs. Mavis Irene Camp Nichols, age 81, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was born January 1, 1929 in Rockmart, the daughter of Isaac E. and Mamie Quick Camp.
Mrs. Mavis Nichols is survived by one sister, Gladys Camp Garrett, son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" D. Nichols, Jr. and Chris Martin-Nichols; daughter, Carolyn "Pat" Nichols Yongue; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Nichols Newsome and Jimmy Newsome; son-in-law, Monk Yongue. Grandchildren, Jana Yongue Reese and husband Robert, Jamie Newsome and wife LeAnn, Nikki Yongue Moats and husband Daniel, Kara Nichols and Matthew Nichols; great-grandchildren, Casey Newsome, Joanna Newsome, Eli Moats, Brynna Moats, Xen Reese, and Kaia Reese; many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Mamie Camp; sisters, Sylvia Camp Simms, Thelma Camp Owen; brothers, Garfield Camp, Joseph Camp, Orlando Camp, Ray Camp, Nathan Camp, Benjamin Camp; many loved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Mavis Irene Camp Nichols will be conducted on Friday, April 23rd, at 3:00 PM at Bellview Baptist Church with Mr. Jamie Newsome and Rev. James Coffman officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Bellview Church Cemetery with Rev. Phil Blanton officiating.
In keeping with Mrs. Nichols personal wishes, flowers are to be omitted; however, memorial donations may be made to The Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2333 North Bellview Rd., Rockmart, GA 30153.
