Ms. Mattie Ioma Wheeler James, age 77, of Cedartown, passed away on July 4, 2013. She was born on November 20, 1935 in Rome, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Marion Homer Wheeler and Frances Lucille Cox Balliew.

Ms. James is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Taylor and Teresa James Garcia and Miguel; sons and daughters-in-law, Gil James, Jr. and Cindy and Steve and Deborah Smith; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Ms. James is preceded by her parents; husband, Gil James, Sr.; sisters, Annie Pearl Hendrix and Frances Beatrice Wheeler and brother, W.C. Wheeler.

The funeral arrangements for Ms. James will be conducted on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Partain officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Ms. James will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Charles Carver, Brandon Thompson, Lee Taylor, Jason Wilkins, Thomas Ammons and Michael Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Sheila Wilkins, Heather Wilkins, Tiffany Thompson, Nicole Carver, Kimberly Ammons and Allison Garcia.
