Mrs. Mattie Florence Frawley, age 82, of Cedartown, GA passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011. She was born May 20, 1929 in Dallas, GA, the daughter of the late John and Grace Carter Lively.
Mrs. Frawley, affectionately known as Ms. Mattie by her friends, was a dedicated and beloved member of Second Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Alexander H. (Red) Stephenson, Jr.; son, Ronald Lee Stephenson; sisters, Jennelle Gregory, Lily Mae Strickland; brothers, Russell Lively, Leroy Lively.
Mrs. Frawley is survived by husband, Thomas Frawley. Their forty-second wedding anniversary would be September 12. Survived are son, James Hamilton Stephenson, son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Katrina Frawley; daughter-in-law, Chela Stephenson-Colvin; brother, James Lively. Also surviving are grandchildren and their spouses, James Stephenson (Virginia Edwards), Bradley Stephenson, Jason Stephenson (Mikki), Jimmy Stephenson (Candice), Andrea Walker (Tony), Amanda Stephenson Thomas (Joseph), Alexander Hamilton Stephenson III (Amber Mills); fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also left behind her cherished canine, Abby.
The funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Frawley will be conducted on Thursday, September 15th, at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Latham, Dr. Bill Heaton, and Dr. Larry Conner officiating. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 14th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 826, Cedartown, GA 30125.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Alexander Hamilton Stephenson III, Jimmy Lee Stephenson, Jason Stephenson, Bradley Stephenson, Jamie Stephenson, and friend, Butch Grogan.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Mattie Florence Frawley.
