Mrs. Mattie Beatrice "Bea" Hopkins, age 60, of Cedartown passed away Saturday December 8, 2007 after an extended illness. She was born November 26, 1947 in Polk County to the late Charlie E. Davis and Minnie Ballew Davis. She was also preceded in death by daughter; Tammy Cheatwood and two brothers; Jimmy Davis and Dewey Davis.

Family members surviving are husband, John P. Hopkins ; son Johnny Hopkins; sisters, Betty Short, Christine McCollum, Patsy Morris and Margie Reid; brother Huey "Whitey" Davis; five grandchildren, Russ Hopkins, Ashley Cheatwood, Rebecca Hopkins, Zack Cheatwood and Taylor Hopkins. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Beatrice "Bea" Hopkins will be conducted on Tuesday December 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Friendly Baptist Church with Rev. R.B. Hulsey & Rev. Jerome Smith officiating. The interment will be at the Northview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 10 from 6 until 9 pm at the Olin L Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Russ Hopkins, Taylor Hopkins, Zack Cheatwood, Kyle Morris, Jeremy Morris and Jimmy Davis.
