Mrs. Mary Ellen Davis-Duncan, of Cedartown, went to be with her Lord on July 13, 2009, after a long illness. Her husband, Thomas E. Duncan stayed by her side as she slipped into life everlasting. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Fred Davis Jr.

Mary Ellen, born January 15, 1937, was the youngest daughter of the late "Nick" and Rosabelle Champe of Lainge, WV. She was the wife of Thomas E. Duncan of Cedartown.

Her children; Pamela Sue Buzzard of Beckley WV, Christopher Todd Davis of Beckley WV, Lori Ann Petry of Daniels WV, Kathy Jo Weaver, of Cedartown, GA, will miss her every day of their lives, as they continue their work on this earth, and until they see her again in heaven.

Mary Ellen was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren; they are as follows:
Grandsons: Joshua David Petry of Beckley WV; Nicholas Thomas Weaver of Cedartown GA; and Caleb Aaron Petry of Daniels, WV.

Great Grandsons: Logan Joseph Stover of Fayetteville, WV; Landon Taylor Martin of Beckley, WV; Carter Joshua Petry of Beckley, WV.
Granddaughters: Jami Michelle Elmore of White Oak, WV; Kristin Nicole Stover, of Fayetteville, WV; Lynora Jean Davis of Beckley, WV.

Great Granddaughters: Alissa Brooke Elmore, Madison Nicole Elmore both of White Oak, WV; and Rylee Nicole Stover of Fayetteville, WV.

As we say goodbye, we remember the good times, the times of laughter and the times of love. For what does it matter if we do not love? When all have gone, we have memories, and the greatest of all things… love. Mary Ellen is loved…. completely and truly.

Mom, thank you for everything, you have done well, be at rest, and one day we will be together again.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Pryor Funeral Home in East Bank, WV with the Rev. Randy Camp officiating.

Burial will follow in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV.

Friends may visit from 6 to 8 PM Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, WV.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home in Cedartown and The Pryor Funeral Home in East Bank, WV are handling the arrangements for Mrs. Mary Ellen Davis-Duncan.
