Mrs. Mary Edith Hubbard, age 80, of Silver Creek, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was born in Etowah County, AL on July 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Effie Sprouts and Richard Hilley.

Mrs. Hubbard was a native of Alabama and long time resident of Cedartown. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who passionately enjoyed her garden.

Mrs. Hubbard is preceded in death by her parents and son, Bill M. Hubbard. She is survived by daughter and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Nathan Benefield of Silver Creek and Jeannine and Joe Williams; Son, Archie Hubbard of Michigan; Sister, Louise Burgess; Fifteen Grandchildren, Fourteen Great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 14th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Nathan Benefield, Matthew Benefield, Darrell Hooker, Jeremy Rampley, James Baker, and Paul Ennis will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Hilley and David Nathaniel Benefield.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
