Mrs. Mary Ellen Fortenberry Carrales, age 68 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026.  She was born on March 23, 1958 in Bessemer, Alabama.  She was the daughter of the late Herman and Viola Smith Fortenberry.

Mrs. Carrales is survived by her husband, Alfred "Fred" Carrales; daughters, Amber Gonzales (Andrew), Rebecca Calhoun (Eric) and Tabatha Trevino; son, Damian Trevino; several siblings; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Joshua, Marissa, Christian, Noah, Ava, Dominique, Alexander, Jayden, Damian, Serenity, Destiny, Eric, Shakea and Angelina; great-grandchilren, Lyomaris, Javier, Julian, Nevaeh, Josiah, Nelani, Freyah, Viego, Willow, Zaiden, Zyleah, Kash and KC; many furbabies and several over extended family members.

In keeping with Mrs. Carrales wishes, she was cremated.  The family will hold a private memorial service in the coming days.
