Mrs. Martha Cecelia Ward, age 91, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008. She was born September 5, 1916 in Barrow County, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. A.G. Ward, Jr. and her parents, Mr. William Preston Stewart and Mrs. Elzora Missouri Burson Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Marion Stewart, Glenn Stewart, and Harold Stewart.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Olin Hackney; Grand Daughter and spouse, Kathryn & Ken Smith; Grandson and spouse, Stewart & Mandy Hackney; and her four Great Grandchildren, Cecelia Grace Smith, Charolette Suzanne Smith, Jackson Hollis Hackney, and Coleman Stewart Hackney. Mrs. Ward is also survived by one brother, Mr. Charles Stewart.

The visitation for Mrs. Ward will be held from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Cedartown, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedartown Georgia with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The following gentlemen are pallbearers, Jeff Gresham, Gerald Gresham, Steve Stewart, Mark Stewart, Jimmy Carter, and Scooter Stephens.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, The Samaritan House, or the Polk County Family Literacy Program.
