Mrs. Margie Owens Holbrooks, age 77, of Rockmart, formerly of Cedartown passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010. She was born on October 22, 1932 in Cedartown, the daughter of David and Tempe Deems Owens (both deceased).

Mrs. Holbrooks is survived by a husband of 58 years, Billy D. Holbrooks; sisters and brothers, Christine Bishop, Maggie Garner and brother-in law Brooks, Wilma Edwards, Kelly Owens and sister-in law Bettye, J.W. Owens and Wayne Owens and sister- in law Cassie; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Holbrooks is preceded in death by parents, David and Tempe Owens; sister; Lois Owens; and brothers, Roy Owens and Darnell Owens.

The funeral service for Mrs. Margie Holbrooks will be conducted on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Youngs Grove Baptist Church in Cedartown with Rev. Barry McCullough and Rev. Blake Dodd officiating along with speakers, Donald Robinson, Derrick F. Owens, B.W."Burt" Owens and Donya Lester. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery with Rev. Billy Frasier officiating at graveside.

The family of Mrs. Holbrooks will receive friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Edwin Owens, Lamar Owens, Keith Owens, Gwendell Owens, Joey Edwards, Derrick F. Owens, Joy W. Owens, Jr., and Burton W. Owens, Jr.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted, however, the family has requested a memorial contribution to the Youngs Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of Wes Newton, P.O. Box 1638, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Margie Holbrooks.
