Mrs. Margaret Lee Benfield Davenport, age 95, of Cedartown passed away Thursday July 10, 2008. She was born February 14, 1913 in Polk County, the daughter of the late W. C. Benfield and Estelle Austin Benfield. She retired from Southern Bell as a telephone operator.

Mrs. Davenport is preceded in death by husband, Roscoe Davenport and her parents.

Family members surviving are sister, Ruth Vincent and niece, Judy Buckner.

The funeral service for Mrs. Margaret Davenport will be conducted on Sunday, July 13, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Taylor and Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at the First Baptist Chapel beginning at 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. The body will lie in state in the chapel during the visitation hour.

Pallbearers are Joe Farrar, Pete Ewing, Julis Davenport, Kevin Bergen, and John Stone.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to the Children's Renovations Program at the First Baptist Church.
