Mrs. Lucille West Benefield passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009. She was born March 15, 1919 in Floyd County.
Mrs. Benefield was a long time member of Wimberly Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Benefield is survived by husband, John Albert Benefield; children & spouses, Noah & Shirley Benefield, William Benefield & Teresa Stewart, Buddy & Beverly Benefield, Carolyn & David Sulliins, Joe & Annette Benefield; grandchildren & spouses, Chris & Rhonda Benefield, Timothy Benefield, David & Mary Jane Benefield, Kim & Dennis Allen, Barry & Anita Benefield, Malissa & Eddie Hosmer, Tammy & Chris Nichols, Eddie & Jennifer Benefield, John & Traci Benefield, Shaunna & Shayne Garrison, Felicia & Genile Winslett, Mark & Pam Sullins, Kim Harris, Karen Murstig, Bryan & Rachel Harris; thirty four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother, Lee West; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Cora Roberson West; daughter, Irene Benefield; sisters, Mildred Sanders, Myrtle Dollar, Zora Lindsey, Iris Reeves, Effie Stewart, Lois Davis, Margaret Finch; brothers, Orbin West, Ralph West, W.T. West, and Edward West.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Benefield will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Wimberly Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Davis, Rev. Larry Davis, and Rev. Rayford Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens. Mrs. Benefield will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Chris Benefield, Timothy Benefield, David Benefield, Barry Benefield, Mark Sullins, John Benefield, and Eddie Benefield.
