Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Stroup Aring, age 80, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009.

She was born November 24, 1928 in Polk County, Georgia.

Mrs. Aring is survived by her husband of sixty years, Mr. Albert F. Aring; Daughter and Son-in-law, Bertha Kay and Gregory R. Desjarlais; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Robert Lee and LaDonna Aring, Donald Keith and Lisa Aring; Son, Michael F. Aring. Ten Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Aring is preceded in death by her parents, Jonah Stroup, Sr. and Birtha Elizabeth Hampton Stroup; Sister, Katherine S. Bailey; and Brothers, Luther B. Stroup and Jonah Stroup Jr.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mrs. Lillian Aring will be conducted on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Karch officiating.

The interment will be in Northview Cemetery.

Colton Holt, Richard Williams, Bobby Aring, John Benefield, Greg McDowell, and Shawn Aring will be serving as pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Stroup Aring.
