Ms. Lila Fincher Welchel, age 82, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was born on February 21, 1929 in Haralson County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis W. Fincher and Etta Newman Fincher.

Ms. Welchel is survived by daughter, Joan Welchel Leatherwood; sons, Larry Welchel, Sr. and Anthony Laverne Welchel; sister, Zadie Roland; brother, Robert Lee Fincher; and twelve grandchildren. She was also blessed with numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Ms. Welchel is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ellen Deeds; brother, Erman Fincher; and two grandchildren.

The funeral service for Ms. Lila Welchel will be conducted on Monday June 13, 2011 at ten o'clock in the morning in the chapel of Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Stedman Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 12, 2011 from seven o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Keith Welchel, Sammy Welchel, Donald Welchel, Larry Welchel, Jr., Lacurtis Bentley, and Kelvin Bentley will serve as Pallbearers. Stevie Welchel will serve as an honorary Pallbearer.
