Leah J. Herring, age 74, died peacefully on Saturday morning, June 16, 2012 in Litchfield Park, AZ. Leah was born on February 27, 1938 in Macon, Georgia to A.B. and Lora Jarrett, as their only daughter.

She had three brothers who she adored and to whom she was their beloved sister.

She studied concert piano at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia and went on to receive a Bachelors of Science degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia, and later a Masters in Business from Berry College, Rome, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her son, Greg M. Herring, and her husband, Guy R. Herring.

She is survived by one brother, Loy Jarrett, of Ellijay, Georgia, and one son, Alan B. Herring, and his wife, Jean, and two daughters, Emily and Libby.

A funeral is planned for 10 a.m. at The Church of Litchfield Park on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Cedartown, GA.

The Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, AZ is handling the arrangements for Leah J. Herring.
