Mr. Kenneth Slaughter, 78, of Cedartown passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007 in an out of town hospital. He was born in Esom Hill, Georgia on March 20, 1929 the son of Luther and Elma Mathis Slaughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenneth Slaughter, Jr; granddaughter, Jennifer Dale Kotula; sisters, Mavis Goodwin, Dixie Cash, and Lorraine Slaughter; brother, Luther Jesse Slaughter.

Family members surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Wesley Ballard; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Dale and Lou Lanier; sisters, Carolyn Goddard, Barbara Kimbrell, Pearlie Chastain, and Diane Smith; grandchildren, LaBriska Nichole Ballard Waddell, Rachel Lynn Ballard, Janice Marie Ballard, and Stephen Wesley Ballard and great grandson, Patrick John Lee Ballard.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 15, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne officiating. The interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Byron Slaughter, Jason Slaughter, Charles Wheeler, Stephen Ballard, Dewayne Thomson, and Hetcher Broxton.
