Mr. Kelly Neal Owens, age 87 of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born on August 19, 1926 in Aragon. He was the son of the late David Franklin and Tempie Seville Deems Owens.

Mr. Owens is survived by his loving wife, Bettye Jane Sligh Owens; daughters and son-in-law, Lyn Knowles and Rebekah and Wayne Lyles; sons and daughter-in-laws, Lamar and Gaynell Owens, Keith and Teresa Owens and Robert Jett; sisters, Christine Bishop, Maggie Garner and Wilma Edwards; brothers, J.W. Owens and Wayne Owens; grandchildren, Don Marr, Jr., Anthony Marr, Heath Owens, Chris Owens, Dena Owens Stroup, Lynsey Knowles, Lara Knowles, Logan Knowles, Austen Atkins, Jeb Hays, Henley Hays, Adelyn Lyles, Ashley Lyles and Brittany Lyles and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margie Holbrooks and Lois Owens; brothers, Darnell Owens and Roy Owens and grandson, Dr. John C. Marr.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Owens will be conducted on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. DeWayne New, Rev. Delton Harne and Mr. Jason Stroup officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery will Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard and Masonic Rites conducted by the Caledonia Lodge #121.

The family of Mr. Owens will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Patrick Kelly, Henley Hays, Jeb Hays, Austen Atkins, Heath Owens, Wayne Lyles, Chris Owens and Jason Stroup.

Flowers are being accepted; however donations can also be made to a charity of your choice.
