Katie Mae Miller Strickland's Obituary
Ms. Katie Mae Miller Strickland, age 89 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015. She was born on December 4, 1925 in Polk County. She was the daughter of the late Walter Temus Miller and Pluma E. Collins Miller.
Ms. Strickland is survived by her daughters, Linda West and Carolyn Lee; sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry Strickland and Darlene and Delmer Strickland and Suanna; brother, Allen Miller; grandchildren, Bryan Hatch (Kim), Ken Hatch (Karen), Joey Lee (Leigh), Melinda Smith (Mike), Judy Porter (Tim), Jimmy Wayne Strickland, Larry "Little Bit" Strickland, Jamie Strickland (Amy), Bradley Strickland, Alex Strickland, Rebekah Strickland and Carrie Strickland; great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Kanton Smith, Brett Smith, BJ Hatch, Derrick Hatch, Kendall Hatch, Zackery Porter, Chloe Lee and Meagan Strickland and great-great-grandchildren, Gunner Hatch, Graylin Rose Hatch and Sutter Smith.
Ms. Strickland is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd Strickland; son, Wayne Strickland; great-granddaughter, Brandy Hatch; brothers, Grover Miller, Seals Miller, Accie Miller and Norris Miller and sisters, Esther Miller, Fannie East, Pauline Packer, Daisy Packer and Irene Strickland.
The funeral arrangements for Ms. Strickland will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at three o'clock in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. DeWayne New and Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Strickland will receive family and friends on Friday, May 8, 2015 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mackey Again, Jerry Miller, Zackery Porter, Derrick Hatch, BJ Hatch, Sonny Burns and Kanton Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Strickland's grandchildren.
