Mrs. Katherine Jean Hooks Gainous, age 84, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was born on August 11, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Annie Westmoreland Hooks.

Mrs. Gainous is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Fredaleen Camp and Renee Mitchell and Keith; brother, Robert "Bobby" Hooks; grandchildren, Amy Christian (Buck), Ryan Smallwood (Sharon) and Derek Smallwood and great-grandchildren, Levi Christian, Colby Christian, Corbey Smallwood and Kayla Smallwood.

Mrs. Gainous is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis Ned Gainous and brother, Marion Hooks.

A graveside service for Mrs. Katherine Jean Hooks Gainous will be conducted on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 3:30 pm at Sunrise Memorial Gardens (3721 Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, GA 30135) with Pastor Neil Williams officiating.

The family of Mrs. Gainous will receive family and friends on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family of Mrs. Gainous has requested that flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to Heyman Hospice of Floyd, 255 West 5th Street, Rome, GA 30161.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ryan Smallwood, Derek Smallwood, Levi Christian, Colby Christian, Corbey Smallwood and Keith Mitchell.
