Karen Lee Supon's Obituary
Mrs. Karen Lee Jervis Supon passed away Monday, September 28, 2009. She was born June 3, 1945, the daughter of Betty King Jervis and the late Charles Thornwell Jervis, Jr.
Mrs. Karen Supon was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Cedartown for thirty-three years where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Cedartown High School, Cedartown Middle School, Rockmart High School and Darlington. Mrs. Supon's love of teaching also took her abroad to Germany and Japan where she taught English.
She was a founding member of Cedartown's Little Theatre and a sustaining member of Cedartown's and Rome's Junior Service Leagues.
Mrs. Karen Supon is survived by husband, William H. "Bill" Supon; mother, Betty King Jervis; sister, Virginia Chambers; brothers, Charles Thornwell Jervis III, James William Jervis. She is also survived by her beloved niece, Virginia Stephenson and spouse, James; cherished grandnieces, Emma Caroline Stephenson and Charlotte Claire Stephenson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Thornwell Jervis, Jr.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Karen Supon will be conducted on Wednesday, September 30th, at 4:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bob Hoffmann, Rev. Dave Grove, and Dr. Richard M. Connor, Sr. officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, September 29th from 7:00 – 9:00 at the First United Methodist Church
Pallbearers are Dr. Richard M. Connor, Sr., Richard Mitchell Connor, Jr., Rev. Dave Grove, William Forest Wells, James Stephenson, and John Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to one of the following: First United Methodist Church, 201 Wissahickon Ave., Cedartown, GA 30125 or American Cancer Society @ www.cancer.org or by mail, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., N.W., Kennesaw, GA 30144, or First Presbyterian Church, 314 W. John Hand Rd., Cedartown, GA 30125.
