Mrs. Joyce Faye Whitehead Atkins, age 74 of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born on January 30, 1940 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late O.B. Whitehead and Thelma West Whitehead.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by her husband, Clinton Atkins; son, Lee Atkins; grandchildren, Macy Atkins, Weston Atkins; sisters, Bea Weaver, Rebecca Griffin, Janet Shaw; and brothers, Stanley Whitehead and Wade Whitehead.

In keeping with her wishes, her body was cremated. A memorial service for Mrs. Atkins will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. F. Bobby Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Atkins will receive family and friends for one hour prior to the memorial service on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family has asked that flowers be omitted and that Memorial contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Atkins to the Truth Tabernacle of Praise, 5705 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA. 30083.
