Ms. Joyce Bates, age 61, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on November 6, 2011. She was born on June 13, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Jacqueline Doughty.

Ms. Bates was a machine operator at Ball Corps in Tallapoosa, Georgia for over 32 years.

Ms. Bates is survived by her life companion Jerry Bates; brothers and sister-in-laws, Roy Doughty and Betty of Charleston, West Virginia and Robert Doughty and Wada of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Mollohan and Mike of Elkview, West Virginia and Christina Doughty of Raleigh, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Bates is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Doughty and sister, Deloris Doughty.

Ms. Bates was of the Baptist faith. The funeral arrangements for Ms. Bates will be conducted at Hafer Funeral Home in Elkview, West Virginia.

Interment will be in the Doughty Cemetery in Elkview, West Virginia.
