Mr. John Wesley Shaw, age 79, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2007. He was born March 31, 1928 in Dawson, Georgia. He was a retired United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.

Mr. Shaw is preceded in death by parents, John William Shaw and Cassie Mae Sealark Shaw; wife, Darlene Jan Stickney Shaw and daughter, Kristi Williams.

Mr. John Wesley Shaw is survived by daughter, Vickie Harris; sons, John D. Shaw and Eric Shaw; sisters, Willie Mae Shaw, Kate Benefield and Virginia M. Carroll. Eight grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Shaw will be conducted on Thursday, April 5 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. R. B. Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4 from 7:00 - 9:00 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be deacons and members of Friendly Baptist Church.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and donations be made to Friendly Baptist Church, 67 Friendly Baptist Church Rd., Cedartown, GA 30125.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements of Mr. John Wesley Shaw.
