Mr. John Robert Lee Puckett Jr., age 72, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007. He was born on January 29, 1935 in Polk County, Georgia, the son of John Robert Lee Puckett, Sr. and Mattie Jane Miller.
Mr. John Robert Lee Puckett Jr. was a veteran of the United States Army. He fought in the Korean War and received many medals of service including the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal. He was also a local retired carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Robert Lee Puckett, Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Jane Miller, and his brothers, Mr. Earline Smith and Mr. John D. Miller.
Mr. John Robert Lee Puckett Jr. is survived by daughters, Lori Bagwell, Latrelle McCarty, and Miranda Lee; sons, James Puckett, William Puckett, Robert Puckett, Tim Puckett, and Jason Bagwell; sister, Nellie Ruth Cooper; brother, Monroe Puckett; Eighteen Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special family friends are Joyce & Marshall Ballew and Jean & Carlton McClain.
The funeral service for Mr. John Robert Lee Puckett Jr. will be conducted on Sunday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Pyles and Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating.
Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery with full military rights by Brewester-Cleveland American Legion Post # 86 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jason Truitt, Jack Rider, Jimmy Miller, Johnny Miller, Billy Miller, and Zack Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Thomas, "Little" William, and Lee Williams.
