Mr. John Charles Lameka, age 40, of Centre, Alabama, formerly of Cedartown passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was born November 10, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois.

John was a veteran of the Gulf War, serving in the United States Army, where he was awarded two Bronze Stars.

He was preceded in death by brother, James Lameka.

Mr. John Lameka is survived by son, Evan Lameka; mother, Charlotte Diane Lameka; father, James Lameka; sisters, Rhonda Faith Irwin and Tracy Brugman; nieces and nephews, Megan Lameka, Gage Lameka, Brad Irwin and Brett Irwin.

Mr. Lameka was cremated according to his wishes and a Memorial Service to be conducted on Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, beginning one hour prior to the service at the Gammage Funeral Home.
