Mr. John Worner "J.W." Davidson, age 76, of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010. He was born on January 28, 1934 in Cleburne, Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Worner and Flora M. Pruitt Davidson.
Mr. John Davidson was retired from the United States Army after serving twenty years in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a mason Member of Caledonia Lodge 121. He worked for the Cedartown Police Department for seventeen and a half years. J.W. was a member of Mt. Zion West Baptist Church.
Mr. John Davidson is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Ruby Davidson; daughters, Heather Davidson, Lori Davidson, Kim Molock, Debi and Joe O'Neill and Robin and Jeff Winters; sons, Johnny Davidson, Jim Davidson and Barry Ford; six grandsons, Cory Davidson, Brent Davidson, Dustin Winters, Matt and Micah John Molock, Braxton Worner (Petie) Norman; two granddaughters, Cheyenne Ford and Amanda Winters; sister, Evelyn G. Ward; brothers, Charles Ardell Davidson and James Owen Davidson.
Mr. John Davidson is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Worner and Flora M. Pruitt Davidson; grandparents, Carl and Nannie McWhoter Pruitt; sister, Marie McElwee; brother, Larry Davidson.
The funeral service for Mr. John Davidson will be conducted on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Robinson, Rev. Adam Hulsey and Rev. Rich Fuscia officiating. Following the service, interment will be held at the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia with full Military Rites Conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Full Masonic Rites conducted by Caledonia Lodge #121.
The family of Mr. Davidson will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 6-9pm with the Polk County Law Enforcement Honor Guard Posting a Death Watch at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Winters, Jeff Winters, Matt Molock, Micah John Molock, Barry Hulsey, and Tony Davidson.
Honorary pallbearers will be past and present Cedartown Police Department.
