Mr. John Lawrence Branch, Jr., age 63 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Mr. Branch was born on January 8, 1956 in Cedartown to the late John Lawrence Branch, Sr. and Anne McDonald Branch.

Mr. Branch served his community for over thirty years as a volunteer firefighter for Polk County Fire Department Station 1. In his many years of service, Mr. Branch held the positions of Training Officer, Assistant Chief and ultimately as Chief from 1997 until 2001 and again from 2007 until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Branch also served as Training Officer for all of Polk County Volunteer Fire Department for several years from the late 1980's until the early 1990's.

Mr. Branch is survived by his mother; sons, John Ross Branch and Sam Branch; and grandchildren, Caroline Branch and Abel Branch.

Mr. Branch is preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service for Mr. John Lawrence Branch, Jr. will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at four o'clock in the afternoon from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Frankie Matthews and Mr. Sam Branch officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Pine Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Branch will receive family and friends on Saturday November 2, 2019 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the memorial service hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family respectfully request flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to the Polk County Volunteer Fire Department.
