John Robert "Bobby" Griffin III , age 87 of Cedartown, passed away November 21, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Griffin was born in Cartersville , Georgia on May 1, 1927, son of the late John R. Griffin , Jr. And Nell Foster Griffin.

Mr. Griffin was a graduate of Cedartown High School and attended West Georgia College. He also served in the United States Army in World War II.

Mr. Griffin was co-owner of a dry cleaning business in Cedartown, Georgia for 39 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cedartown, Georgia and the American Legion Post 98.

Mr. Griffin loved spending times with his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and playing golf.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Ann Griffin, daughter Patti Griffin Stewart of Cedartown and son Fred Griffin and wife Angela of Orlando, Florida. Survivors also include two sisters, Ann Griffin Brewster of Atlanta, Georgia and Sadie Griffin Williams of Marietta, Georgia. Mr. Griffin was a proud grandfather of five: Ben Stewart, Rebecca Stewart, Haley Sanders and husband Mike, Hannah Griffin and Foster Griffin. He was also the great grandfather of Graham Stewart and Reeva Money.

A memorial service will be held on Monday November 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Cedartown. Dr. Edward Wadsworth will be officiating and Dr. Ed Brewster will give the eulogy.

The family will receive friends at their residence, 588 Cherokee Road, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church of Cedartown or Murphy Harpst also of Cedartown.
