Mr. John Wayne Angel, age 83, of Cave Spring, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1942 in Centre, Alabama. He was the son to the late John Walter and Otha Mae Lewis Angel.
Mr. Angel is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Barbara Shaw Holloway Angel; daughters, Lee Shirley (Johnny) and Carol Bottoms (Mark); son, John Wayne Angel Jr. (Christy); step-daughters, Toni Harp (Ian) and Tara Farnsworth (Josh); step-son, Tim Holloway (Lori); sisters, Jane Murray (George) and Marie Evans (Greg); brother, Elbert Angel (Sheila);and sister-in-law, Laurie Angel. Numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
Mr. Angel is preceded in death by his parents; loving first wife of 54 years, Linda Mullinax Angel; sister, Ellen Ruth Angel; brother, Vann Angel; and granddaughter, Jessica Angel.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. John Wayne Angel will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Carter and Dr. Brian Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in the Angel family lot of Northview Cemetery in Cedartown.
The family of Mr. Angel will receive family and friends on Monday, January 5, 2026 from six o'clock in the evening until 8 o'clock in the evening at the Olin L Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Phillip Broome, Noah VanDyck, Gavin VanDyck, Stephen Bottoms, Matthew Angel and Justin Angel. Honorary pallbearers will be Case VanDyck and Wyatt Broome.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in his honor to the building fund of Second Baptist Church Cedartown, at 152 Evergreen Lane, Cedartown Ga. 30125.
