Mr. Joe C. Burger, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.

Mr. J. C. "Joe/Jake" Burger, age 76, of Cedartown passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Polk General Hospital.

J. C. was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Maddron Burger, and parents, Truman and Annie Burger.

He is survived by his current wife, Alice Burger of Cedartown; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Maxie Burger of Cave Springs and Jeff and Esther Ann Burger of Rome; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ricky Jackson of Douglasville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Todd and Angel Morgan of Cedartown; brothers and sister-in-law, Junior and Sharon Burger of Marietta, Leon Burger of Calhoun, and Jerry Burger of Dalton; sisters, Lucy Staten of Dalton and Mildred Muse of Dalton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Burger will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Chastain officiating. Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
