Mrs. Jewell Elizabeth Jones Sloman, age 78, of Rome, Georgia, formerly of Rockmart, passed away on Thursday, December 09, 2010. She was born on December 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Mildred Godwin Jones.

Mrs. Sloman is preceded in death by her husband, Clark Howell Sloman; parents, Albert and Mildred Godwin Jones and great-grandchild, Kassidy Peterson.

Mrs. Sloman is survived by daughters and son in-law, Kathy Vandiver and Susan and David Taylor; son and daughter in-law, Dennis and Nancy Sloman; sister, Niter Davis; brothers, Jack Jones and Raydon Jones; grandchildren, Amber and Dorman Peterson, Suzann Vandiver and Brad and Jennifer Taylor and great-grandchildren, Madison Hubbard, Izaak Taylor, Matthew Martin, Katelyn Taylor, Clay Martin, Chelsey Peterson and Sam Peterson.

The funeral service for Mrs. Sloman will be conducted on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Sisson and Rev. Larry Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Sloman will receive friends on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 12:30 pm until the funeral hour.

The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers; Barry Davis, Dylan Trovillion, Ryan Burke, Brad Taylor, Izaak Taylor, Dorman Peterson, Larry Broome and Johnny Peoples.

Honorary pallbearers will be the ladies of the TEL Sunday School class of Wilkerson Road Baptist Church.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Jewell Elizabeth Jones Sloman.
