Mrs. Jessie Mae Bedford Newsome, age 86, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010. She was born June 29, 1923 in Polk County

She is preceded in death by husband Johnnie Andrew Newsome; parents, Edward and Lois Blalock Bedford; brother, James Bedford; sisters, Polly Bedford Corn and Sue Bedford; granddaughter, Jessica Venable; and great-grandson, Kaleb Truett.

Mrs. Jessie Newsome is survived by two brothers, Clyde Bedford and Loyed Bedford and wife, Peggy; three daughters, Joyce Newsome Cox and husband, Paul, Deborah Newsome Ferguson and husband, Mike, and Linda Newsome Venable and husband, Larry; and son, Jimmy Newsome and wife, Nancy. Eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren,two great-great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral for Mrs. Jessie Mae Bedford Newsome will be conducted on Wednesday, January 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Latham officiating.

Interment will be at Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Grandsons Michael Ferguson, Jamie Newsome, Will Venable and Greg McElwee, and great-grandsons Drew Bradshaw and Christopher Truett will serve as pallbearers. Great-grandsons Casey Newsome, Jordan Wagner, Chase Wagner, and Jackson Venable will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Jessie Mae Bedford Newsome.
