Obituary

Jennie Ray Ridenour, age 103, of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, December 07, 2012. She was born on October 12, 1909 in Shelby County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Edna Potter Ray.

Jennie was a retired accountant for the IRS and was also worked for the North Georgia Methodist Conference.

Jennie is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Dale Melton and Susan and Robert Rentz; grandson, Brian Melton and wife, Kami and great-granddaughter, Annora Melton.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred A. Ridenour; sister, Lena Massey and brothers, Sam Ray and Montee Ray.

The family of Jennie will receive family and friends on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.

A graveside service for Jennie will be conducted on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 3:30pm at the Decatur Cemetery, 299 Bell Street, Decatur, GA 30030, with Rev. Bill McKoy officiating. Interment will follow directly after the service.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and donations can be made to the following churches: Arnold's Chapel United Methodist Church, 8110 Bluff Ridge Road, Bessemer, AL 35022; First United Methodist Church of Cedartown, GA, 201 Wissahickon Avenue, Cedartown, GA 30125 or First United Methodist Church of Decatur, 300 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030.
