Mr. Jay Lewis Dentmon, of Ridge Manor, Florida and formerly of Cedartown, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at Royal Oak Nursing Home in Dade City, Florida.

Mr. Dentmon was born on September 10, 1950 to the late Marshall and Margaret Magdalene Dentmon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Dentmon.

Jay will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Dentmon is survived by one son, Jay Lamar Dentmon and his wife, Linda, of Melborne, Florida; daughter, Tammy Thomas and her husband, Mark, of Lithia Springs, Georgia and four grandchildren. He is also survived by four Brothers, Marshall Dentmon and wife, Connie, of Tampa, Florida; Terry Dentmon and wife, Sandy, of Tampa, Florida; Eddie Dentmon and wife, Elaine, of Lake City, Florida; and Larry Joe Dentmon and wife, Lauren, of Cedartown, Georgia; and four Sisters, Linda Long and her husband, Jasper, of Kirbyville, Texas; Reba Dale of Inverness, Florida; Nancy Ivey and husband, Tony, of Ridge Manor, Florida; Sue Drummonds and husband, Tony, of Ridge Manor, Florida; Thirteen Nephews and Fourteen Nieces.

The funeral service for Mr. Dentmon will be conducted on Friday, May 8, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Larey officiating.

The interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

Billy Dentmon, Dwayne Dentmon, Keith Dentmon, Terry Dentmon Jr., Shelton Ivey, and Wayne Long will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
