Mrs. Janie Carter Spann, age 79, of Cedartown passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. She was born November 28, 1930 in Cedartown, the daughter of Wiley E. Carter and Annie Pearl Peace Carter (both deceased).
Mrs. Spann was a beloved member of Southside Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Spann is preceded in death by sisters, Frances Cook, Dorothy Ward, and Mildred Ash.
Mrs. Janie Spann is survived by husband, William Doyle Spann, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Connie Spann Mullen and Jerry; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Spann and Karen, Phillip Doyle Spann and Patsy. Also surviving are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys James and Patsy Eversman.
The funeral service for Mrs. Spann will be conducted on Friday, April 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Smith and Dr. James Guy officiating. Mrs. Spann will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Spann, Joshua Mullen, Chris Chandler, Chad Chandler, Randy Allen, and Dustin Perry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 1st from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted; however, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Southside TV Ministries, 409 Cobb St., Cedartown, GA 30125.
