Mrs. Janice Marie Johnson Welchel, age 63, of Cedartown passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009. She was born February 15, 1946 in Cobb County, GA, the daughter of the late Miriam Ritch Johnson and Hubert Frank Johnson, Sr.

Mrs. Welchel is survived by husband, Charles Welchel; sons, Eddie Welchel and wife, Agnes, Ricky Welchel, Greg Welchel; two granddaughters; two grandsons; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Hubert Johnson, Grady Johnson, Bobby Johnson, and Terry Johnson; and sisters, Francie Shekell, Carol Green, and Barbara Woody. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Welchel is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Bridget Eve Brakeman; and brothers, James Arron Johnson and Joseph Walter Johnson.

The graveside service for Mrs. Welchel will be conducted on Friday, July 31, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Sanders Cemetery in Cedartown with Rev. Larry Ritch and Rev. Ted Porterfield officiating.

Randy Welchel, Jim Welchel, Jr., Jim Welchel, III, Joey Johnson, Rodney Johnson, and Donnie Richardson will be serving as Pallbearers. Curtis Anderson and Mike Jones will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Janice Marie Johnson Welchel.
