Rev. James Monroe Teems' Obituary
Rev. James Monroe Teems, age 94 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born on May 17, 1919 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Monroe Teems and Emma Wright Teems.
Rev. Teems is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mrs. Willie Evelyn Bridges Teems; son and daughter-in-law, Terry Teems and Jeanice of Cedartown; daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Seals and Doug of Silver Creek and Sarah Kathy Morris of Cedartown; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and special nieces, Louise Martin of Cedartown and Evelyn Morrison of Cedartown.
Rev. Teems is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Teems and Bill Teems; sisters, Christine Welchel, Janie Swafford, Paralee Crumbley, Viola Dufalo and Nora Bell Kelley; daughter, Linda Simpson and sons-in-law, Bob Simpson and Jerry Morris.
Rev. Teems was retired with 20 years of employment with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company here in Cedartown, Georgia.
Rev. Teems was a pastor at numerous churches in and around the Cedartown area for the last 64 years.
Rev. Teems was a member of Youngs Grove Baptist Church in Cedartown, Georgia and an Honorary member of Faith Baptist Church in Cedartown, Georgia.
The funeral arrangements for Rev. Teems will be conducted on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Bridges and Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.
The family of Rev. Teems will receive family and friends on Friday, August 2, 2013 from five o'clock in the evening until seven o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jeff Teems, Chris Rittenhouse, Eric Bennett, Danny Rittenhouse, Bobby Simpson and Jimmy Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Teems, Sky Yeanows and Chris Simpson.
