Mr. James Wayne Taffar, age 70, of Wake Forest, N. C., formerly of Cedartown, passed away on December 16, 2009 after an extended illness. He was born in Cedartown on October 26, 1939, the son of the late Wayne Carter Taffar and Dorothy Dobbs Taffar.

Jim was a member of the Georgia Marine Corp Reserve and attended Auburn University. He enjoyed a successful career with various companies including Burroughs and Nortel Networks.

Jim is survived by wife of 47 years, Joy Elaine Lindsey Taffar; sons, James Scott Taffar, Todd Kendall Taffar, Mark Lindsey Taffar, daughter, Jenna Larisa Taffar Diehl. Grandchildren, Carter Cabaniss Diehl, Lindsey Caroline Diehl, Avery Joy Diehl, and Owen James Taffar; and brother, Fred Dobbs Taffar of Cedartown also survive.

A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The First Baptist Church, Cedartown.

A graveside inurnment service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest, NC. The family will receive friends at the graveside preceding the service.
