Mr. James William "Willie" Perkins, age 80, of Cedartown passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008. He was born December 26, 1927 in Newton County, Georgia. He was a member of Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church in Cedartown, GA. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Southern Railway. He was a member of Caledonia Lodge 121, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Masons. Mr. Perkins was also a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple and served as President of the Cedar Valley Shrine Club No. 7 in 1992 and a member of The American Legion Post # 0086. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling and gardening and sharing his harvest with family and friends.

Family members surviving are Wife, Betty Jo Wills Perkins; Brother and Sister-in-law, John and Carolyn Perkins of Silver Creek, GA; Sister, Charlotte Blair of Cedartown, GA; Nephew and Wife, David and Jan Blair of Buckhead, GA; Niece, Ann Blair of Birmingham, AL; Great Nephew and Wife, Blake and Deana Blair; Great Niece and Husband, Brandi and Eric Warren; Great-Great Nephew, Tanner Warren; and Great-Great Niece, Ella Kate Warren.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, James W. "Bud" and Annie Ruth Satterfield Perkins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Mr. Perkins will be conducted on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Rebecca Holmes officiating. Interment service will follow in Polk Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Charles Wills, David Blair, Michael Wills, Blake Blair, Billy Wills, John Ray, Eric Warren, and Bob Temple will be serving as pallbearers.
