James "Jim" Logan, age 84 celebrated his home going on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home in Cedartown, Georgia, surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was born in Rome, Georgia on August 5, 1929 to Joe and Bonnie Lanham Logan.

Jim graduated from Newnan High School and later attended West Georgia College. After graduation he was employed by the Atlanta Gas Light Company for 40 years retiring in 1993. After moving back to Cedartown, he was employed by Cherokee Country Club for 20 years doing two things he loved to do…cut grass and play golf.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Logan as well as his oldest daughter, Bonnie Kinney.

He is survived by his youngest daughter, Sue Colston of Rome, Georgia and loving friend, Mildred Evans of Cedartown, Georgia. Jim has 4 sisters and 1 brother, Brenda Favor, Linda King, Gail Sewell and the late Betty Jo Bohanan and Richard Logan. Jim is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jeff Carlton, Carie Bowman, Katie Wingate and Mary Beth Simmons. Great grandchildren include, Logan, Tillman and Laney Beth Carlton, Rhett Kinney, Sara Beth and Jacob Simmons, and Sawyer Wingate.

A time of receiving friends and memorial service will be held at Cedartown First Baptist Church on Thursday, December 19, 2013 with a time for receiving friends from 11:00am until 12:00pm, followed by a memorial service beginning at 12:00pm.

Gammage Funeral Home will be in charge of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cedartown First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
