Obituary

Mr. James Herman Lindsey, age 87, of Cedartown passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006. He was born on May 17, 1919 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Mr. Lindsey was a member and a Deacon of East View Baptist Church.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Lindsey served in World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Lamar Lindsey; parents, Arthur Tobias and Bessie Parrish Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Sallie Ruth Baker Lindsey; daughter and son-in-law, Delores Lindsey Wood and Dean Wood and son and daughter-in-law; Jamie Lindsey and Nina Lindsey. Also surviving are grandchildren, Amie Lindsey, Rachel Lindsey French, Tiffany Castellauos and Jonathan Wood. Great grandchildren, Andrew Rainey and John French.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 8th at 2:00PM at East View Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald Campbell, Rev. Gene Beck and Dr. Benny Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in East View Baptist Church Cemetery with full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland Post #86.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7th, from 6:00 –
8:00 PM at Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are the Deacons of East View Baptist Church, Bill Bell, Darrell Stephens, John Bentley, Lantz Campbell, Douglas McCray, and Norval Knight.

Honorary Pallbearers are Nigel Campbell, Parke Quillian, Ronald Head, and Marshall Campbell.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. James Herman Lindsey.
