Mr. James "Clarence" Ford, age 69 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was born on April 18, 1947 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late John Ford and Ethel Gossett Ford.
Mr. Ford was a United States Army Veteran. He was a long time member of the South Side Baptist Church. He was retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company and served as the county commissioner for eight years.
Mr. Ford is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Doris Allen Ford; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Jeff Dabbs; grandchildren, Emily Dabbs, Will Dabbs, Jennifer McKibben, Jada Brown and Kennedi Newton and great-grandchildren, Lilly Brown, Aria McKibben, Adilyn McKibben and Averie McKibben.
Mr. Ford is preceded in death by his parents and son, Jeffrey Paul Ford.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. James Clarence Ford will be conducted on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at eleven o'clock in the morning at South Side Baptist Church with Rev. Joel A. Smith and Dr. Jeff Dabbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Ford will receive family and friends on Friday, September 23, 2016 from five o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kyle Newberry, David Shelton, Derrick Owens, Jeffrey Collier, Tim Golden and Zack McKibben. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bobby Green, Jerry Collier, Richard Robinson, Larry Owens, Charles Pope, Randy Hurst, Milton Dyer and Jessie Blansit.
