Mr. James "Jim" Arnold Wright, age 89, of Powder Springs, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 12th, at Lost Mountain Baptist Church with Dr. Blake McKinney officiating. Entombment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was native of Floyd County and had lived in Cobb County for 55 years. He worked as a supervisor over tool inspection for 30 years before retiring. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Wright was member of Lost Mountain Baptist Church and a member of the Dale Moore Sunday School Class. He was also a member of REBOS in Marietta. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Justin Odom.
Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dottie Wright of Powder Springs; daughters & sons-in-law, Joyce & Dean Long of Alpharetta, Scarlett & David Cure of Marietta, Kathy & Tommy Garner of Cedartown; son & daughter-in-law, Jerrell & Anne Wright of Anderson, S.C.; brother, Clark Wright of Oceanside, CA; sister Bobbie Lane of Oceanside, CA; ten grandchildren, (local grandchildren are Wayne Odom and Clint Odom). Twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Wright's honor may be made to the Lost Mountain Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Wright will lie in state at the Church on Saturday, September 12th from 1 – 3 PM .
Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of the arrangements.
