Mr. Jack Linton Fincher, Sr., age 70, of Cedartown, formerly of Rome, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007. He was born on November 11, 1936.

Mr. Fincher lived in Rome the majority of his life where he was the Assistant Athletic Director for the City of Rome Recreation Dept. for over thirty years. He worked as a pharmacy tech for Eckerd Drug in Cedartown and was owner of Fincher Furniture and The Army Store. He was a founding member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and also a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge #394 and the Yaarab Shrine.

Mr. Jack Linton Fincher, Sr. is survived by his wife, Judy Lorren Fincher to whom he was married in December of 1993; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Linton "Jayce" Fincher, Jr. and Chrystina Fincher of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law Kelly Phillips Staud and Joe Staud of Cartersville, daughter, Robin VanLandingham of Smyrna; brother and sister-in-law, Nick Fincher and Glenda Fincher of Rome, brother, Benny Fincher of Cave Spring; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Thompson and Harry Thompson of Summerville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Holden, Cashmen, and Ava Fincher; Kaycie and Haley Phillips; Brooke and Brad VanLandingham; Cody, Kory, and Dillon Staud; Zorin Moore; and Misty Fountain, along with Great Grandchildren Graycen Fountain, and Dakota Fitzgerald.

The funeral service for Mr. Fincher will be conducted on Sunday, June 24, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. John Calhoun officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 24, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 3:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home.
