Mr. James Walter "J.W." Alexander, age 75, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia on October 13, 1934, the son of the late Luther Clyde and Dera Jane Burnham Alexander.
Mr. J.W. Alexander worked for the City of Cedartown ordinance enforcement for many years.
Mr. J.W. Alexander was a member of Masonic Caledonia Lodge #121 and Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post #86.
Mr. J.W. Alexander is survived by wife, Barbara K. Alexander; children, Sonny and Beth Alexander, Jeannene and Van Powell, Kelly and Laura McLendon and Teri Smith; brothers and sisters in-law, Bobby and Joanne Alexander and Larry and Bonnie Ruth Alexander and eleven grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mr. J.W. Alexander will be conducted on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at four o'clock in the afternoon at the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield and Rev. Patrick Latham officiating.
The family of Mr. J.W. Alexander will receive friends on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with a flag presentation by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post #86.
Flowers are being accepted, however, donations can also be made to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Alexander, Kelly McLendon, Van Powell, Matt Alexander, Alex Powell, Kaleb Smith, Cody Powell, Joe Kelley and Jason Ward.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. James Walter Alexander.
