Mr. Humphrey Alvin "Hump" Posey, age 86, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. He was born on August 10, 1924 in Centre, Alabama; he is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Alma Atkinson Posey.

Mr. Posey was in the Navy during WWII. Mr. Posey was a retired funeral director from the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Posey is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Shirley Flo Posey; two step-daughters, Cynthia F. Simpson and S. Jill Linder; sister, Eula Faye Williams; three nieces; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Posey is preceded in death by, one step-daughter, Pamela K. Stephens; sister, Nora Lee Burchfield and brothers, Cecil Posey and one infant brother.

A graveside service for Mr. Posey will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the family lot of Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Joel Smith officiating.

The family of Mr. Posey will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2011 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Kenneth R. Liner, Jr., P. Jason Willerson, Joshua L. Stansell, Troy L. Simpson, Michael Gammage and Olin L. Gammage.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, Georgia 30067.
