Mr. Hoyt Thomas Welchel, age 86, of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. He was born on October 1, 1928. He was the son of the late James Welchel and Elizabeth Hudgins Welchel.

Mr. Welchel is survived by his wife, Rosa Nell Cheeks Welchel; daughters, Carmon Welchel Dobbs, Jessica Welchel, Becky Gaston and Mary Jackson; brother, Charles Welchel; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Welchel is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra W. Edwards; son, Hugh Don Welchel; sister, Bessie Welchel; brothers, Randolf Welchel, Clarence Welchel, Allen Welchel, Hershel Welchel, James Welchel and Frank Welchel and granddaughter, Christina Gaston.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Welchel will be conducted on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Martin, Brother, Billy Welchel and Rev. Keith Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Welchel will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from five o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
